In Which the Minor Leagues' Premier Dancing Grounds Crew Asserts Itself
Ever since I began this blog back in the dog days of October, it has been my goal to create fair, accurate, and unbiased content. Sometimes, due to fatigue, ignorance, or misplaced animus, I fall short of this noble goal.
Fortunately, I can always count on my vast and loyal readership to set me straight during those trying times in which there is only one set of footprints in the sand. Now is one such time.
So, without further ado, I humbly turn over the rest of this post to Scott Carter, Vice President of Marketing for the Fresno Grizzlies. Mr. Carter has a bone to pick with a recent assertion made in this fine blog. Take it away, Scott:
Dear Ben,
First and foremost, let me say that the entire Grizzlies organization enjoys your blog on a regular basis, especially now that it is organized into easily digestible categories.
However, we feel that you have infringed on one of our greatest entertainment hallmarks this week in your blog covering the Super Bowl bet between Brooklyn and Lowell. On February 4th, you wrote:
"Well, we all know what happened. Now, Bawmann can look forward to visiting Brooklyn in order to
rake the field, dance around the basepaths, and perhaps serve as an honorary member of the ‘Drag Kings.’"
Fans across California’s Central Valley, and even some internet admirers, know that there is only one true "Drag Kings" act. That moniker belongs to a group of four talented gentlemen from the
Grizzlies, who routinely bring down the house with their inventive moves and spot-on choreography. While we realize that many teams have a great dancing field drag act, the Drag Kings are distinct to the Fresno Grizzlies. With their vast repertoire of performances and a fan base that grows by the day, the true Drag Kings were given an honorable mention by Gameops.com for their excellence as an entertainment act in 2007.
